WHAT ARE RESTORATIVE PRACTICES?
“Restorative Practices is a social science that studies how to build social capital and achieve social discipline through participatory learning and decision-making. " - International institute for Restorative Practices
The HBASCP is committed to encouraging Restorative Practices into all the schools we work with. Starting at Eureka High School in the winter of 2015, administrators and teachers began training in the use of restorative circles, affective statements, group decision-making, and other strategies that build relationships and connections with students which will positively impact all academic performance.
Through the use of cohorts starting with Eureka High School, training will continue to our middle schools and will work together with our PBIS strategies in our elementary schools.
